Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 3, 2026
Like most websites, we use cookies. This page explains what they are, which ones we use, and how you can control them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They help sites remember things about your visit—like your preferences or whether you've been there before.
Some cookies disappear when you close your browser (session cookies), while others stick around longer (persistent cookies). We use both kinds.
Cookies we use
Here's a breakdown of the cookies you'll find on our site:
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics - tracks unique visitors | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics - tracks page views and sessions | 24 hours |
| _gat | Google Analytics - throttles request rate | 1 minute |
| datepair_cookie_consent | Remembers that you dismissed the cookie banner | 30 days |
Analytics cookies
Most of our cookies come from Google Analytics (tracking ID: G-4RRK0JGBS9). These help us understand how people use the site—like which pages get the most traffic, how long people stick around, and where visitors come from.
We also use Vercel Analytics, which is built into our hosting platform. It collects similar information but without tracking you across other sites.
Preference cookies
When you dismiss the cookie banner at the bottom of the page, we save a cookie called "datepair_cookie_consent" so we don't show it to you again. That one lasts 30 days. If you clear your cookies, the banner will pop back up next time you visit.
How to control cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. The process varies by browser, but you can usually find these settings under "Privacy" or "Security" in your browser preferences.
Keep in mind that blocking all cookies might affect how some websites work. Our site should still function fine, but you might see the cookie banner every time you visit if you delete your cookies regularly.
If you specifically want to opt out of Google Analytics, you can install their browser add-on.
Third-party cookies
The analytics cookies on our site come from Google and Vercel. These companies have their own privacy policies that explain how they handle data. We don't control what they do with the information they collect, but we chose them because they're widely used and trusted.
We don't use advertising cookies or sell data to third parties. The cookies on our site are just for analytics and basic site functionality.
Changes to this policy
If we start using new cookies or change how we track things, we'll update this page. Check back occasionally if you want to stay informed.
